Here are some quick yet handy Monk tips for EverQuest.
Fast Sneaking ability - Currently you can bug sneak so that you can sneak while running full speed. All you have to do is hit sneak then target anything else (an npc or player or object) then hit clawstrike, dragon fang, or one of the pacify abilities. You MUST get an “out of range” message. Once you do this, you will act as if you are sneaking yet at full speed because the sneak button is no longer in use. To test it out just /consider an npc from behind like you would normal sneak. This is handy for pulling, corpse recover, basically anything sneak would be handy for except that you are now at full speed. Very useful.
What is an NPCs True Name and how do you get it? - Simply put it’s the npcs full name, “an_orc_pawn09″ for example versus what you see in game which is only “an orc pawn”. This can be useful for using /target on a specific npc or for telling different npcs apart that are close together. Or just to show off and pretend you are a cheat. This only works with feign death. Simple feign in close proximity to the npc you want the information for then attempt to trade a no trade item to it. The npc will say something along the lines of “an_orc_pawn28 is too busy to trade”.

Want to have more fun in EverQuest? Read on!
This guide will try and walk you through using the free open source MySEQ with EverQuest on a 1 PC setup.
Some Basic Info
- I do not use this program but believe anything that doesn’t grief other players directly and will make the game enjoyable and less fustrating for players is acceptable.
- This program is against the Sony EverQuest EULA and can get your accounts banned.
- This program is 99.9% safe to use as long as you keep it to yourself and avoid letting other players know that you use it either directly by telling them or indirectly by showing off.
- This program is known by a few names. ShowEQ is the linux version, MySEQ is the WINDOWS version. All references to this program under windows will be under the “MySEQ” name only. Do not refer to it by any other name unless you intend to mean that you are using something not in windows.
- You can run this program on the same PC you play everquest or on a seperate PC/Monitor.
- The main website for this program is www.showeq.net. Any other website is an imitation.
What it does
- Passively(doesn’t alter the data at all) reads the EverQuest memory while the game is running, then displays the information on a map similar to the in-game map but with all available information such as npc or player location, true names, movement, level, etc. Anything the client receives that can be translated into useful information.
- Information such as item drops is not sent to the client and thus not available.
What you need
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0: which can be found here
- the MySEQ program: it is divided into two parts. the “Server” and the “Client”. The server transmits the data to the client. The client displays the information. Both need to be running even if you use the one PC setup.
- Maps: they can be found at www.mapfiend.net or just use the ones in your /EverQuest/maps directory
- Offsets: Offsets are the location of where the information is in the memory, aka the memory address for the information. You need new offsets usually everytime the game is patched and the eqgame.exe file is changed. To get new offsets after a patch you will need to visit the MySEQ section of the forums here
